Rules and Regulations

Membership.

For borrowing purposes, users have to produce their ID cards. Borrowing can only be done after all the details of the card have been checked for loan eligibility/number of loans for each member is determined by his/her membership category (by item type and collection).

 

General Library Rules.

  • Users must wear or bring their student's card to the library.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the library premises.
  • Consumption of food and drink is not permitted in the library.
  • Pets are not allowed in the Library.
  • No bags, umbrella, parcels, etc except files, laptops and books may be brought into the library.
  • Adequate storage facilities have been provided at the entrance to the library.
  • On leaving the library, all users are required to produce for inspection all books and items taken out of the library.
  • Reservation of seats is not permitted. The library staff may remove books and other articles left for any length of time on chairs and tables.
  • Users must be decently dress and conduct themselves properly in the library.
  • Discussion rooms must be used strictly for group discussion only. The library staff on duty have the right to request user to leave the premises if he/she found to be violating any of the library rules.
  • An announcement will be made ten minutes before closing time and all users must vacate the premises.
  • Official time for determining fines of overdue books and other purposes will be read according to the time determined in the computer system at the circulation counter. Should the system be down, the correct time will be determined by the library staff at the services counter.
  • The Librarian is empowered to withhold library facilities for any infringement of these rules.
  • The library will not accept responsibility for the loss or misplacement of personal belongings.
  • The management may amend the Library Rules and Regulations as and when necessary.
  • Students are requested to switch OFF their mobile phones while patronizing the library.
  • Student whom have been found to have vandalized any library furniture or equipments will be penalized.
