Membership Information
Membership
Legitimate users of the library are:
- Academic and administrative staff of the university.
- All undergraduate regular students.
- Extension and summer students who have taken at least 86 credit hours (equivalent to 3rd year).
- Lecturers employed in contract basis.
- Accepted visiting scholars and researchers (reffered to as external readers).
External user Membership Agreement.
Researchers, planners, decision-makers, students of higher learning institutions and other individuals interested in scientific and technological issues may be allowed for the purpose of borrowing, reference and consultation. Users who are in search of excellent services and would like to have borrowing privileges he/she will be required to observe the rules and regulations of the library and has to fill in an application for membership at the circulation desk and submit it his/her department for approval. Users whom have been accepted as members will be issued with borrower's cards the number of which relays on the category of the user group. External users have to pay to be a member of the library in a timely basis.
Pocket Issuance
For all academic staff:-
- 15 pocket for instructors.
- 10 pocket for technical assistance.
For administrative staff:-
- Permanent employees 3 pocket.
- Contract employees 2 pocket for each * Note remember he/she should be accompanied by at least one permanent employee as a guarantor.
For students:-
- All postgraduate students, 10 pocket.
- For regular students who are legitimate library members.
- 1st year - no pocket
- 2nd year - 2 pocket.
- 3rd year - 4 pocket.
- 4th and above regular student - 5 pocket.
- All blind students are issued pockets without any discrimination of grades.
- External users are issued a maximum of five pocket if the request is on an institutional level & two pocket if they have registered individually.
- Extension students that have deposited a certain amount of credit hour may have the privilege to borrow books.
Loan service
In short-term loan or spot reading, users are allowed to borrow materials for a certain period of time (usually one hour) to use it within the library. All legitimate users are allowed for this service and anyone who wants a short-term loan should have a university ID card or membership ID card.For long term loan, users are allowed to borrow materials for more than a day (usually 15 days) and can take the material outside of the library premises. All legitimate users who have the right to have pocket are allowed to use this service. Should one wish to take advantage of the long-term loan service, one should have:
- Valid university ID card or library membership ID card.
- Pocket to borrow the needed material.
- Material that is not; reserve, reference, damaged, or held or in use by another user.
