Overview of the Institute

The Institute of Land Administration (ILA) is part of Bahir Dar University. The institute is the first of its kind in East Africa. Since 2006, the ILA offers a 4 year B.Sc. education programme in Land Administration for regular students. Distance, evening and summer programmes in Land Administation are also available. Curricula for B.Sc. education programmes in Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Urban and Rural Planning as well as Real Estate Management are being prepared. Master programme in Land Administration will also be launched in the near future. The ILA staff profile is high and the institute is well equipped with modern surveying equipment and computer lab for the practical assignments. A new campus, which the Institute of Land Administration will share with the School of Law, is under construction.
