Memorandum of Understanding
Bahir Dar University - Institute of Land Administration (BDU-ILA), Environmental Protection, Land Administration and Use Authority (EPLAUA), Bureau of Works and Urban Development (BoWUD) and Bahir Dar City Administration (BDCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the area of land administration.
The partners have recognised that shortage of professional manpower in rural and urban land administration hinders a full implementation of development policies and strategies and that scientific land administration is a new initiative in Ethiopia that needs strong linkages and cooperation.Major objectives of the cooperation are:
- To establish a forum for experience and information exchange in the area of land administration
- To create opportunities for joint utilization of human and material resources;for the Institute of Land Administration
- To provide short, medium and long-term training for staff within the other partner institutions
- To improve the quality of training at the Institute of Land Administration and service delivery capacity of the other partner institutions, and
- To initiate and implement collaborative projects on current land administration issues.
